- PEI sheets provide a 3D printing surface that doesn’t necessitate the use of tape, adhesive, or slurries. Both ABS and PLA materials achieve strong adhesion to this surface, which negates the need for additional support rafts traditionally used for securing adhesion.
- The amber transparent solid of PEI has a low flame retardancy and smoke output, thanks to its inherent traits. With an oxygen index of 47% and UL94-V-0 grade combustion, it’s a safe material to use. Its density ranges between 1.28 to 1.42g/cm3.
- This PEI sheet showcases impressive temperature stability, regardless of reinforcement. It also boasts excellent toughness and strength.
- Its admirable features include mechanical properties, radiation resistance, resistance to high and low temperatures, wear resistance, and the ability to transmit microwaves.
- The sheet has great flame retardancy, alongside chemical resistance and electrical insulation characteristics.
Instructions for Use:
- Prior to use, ensure both sides of the protective teal-colored film have been removed.
- Using a hobby knife, score the PEI sheet to match the desired size. The sheet can be attached to the print bed in two ways. First, you can use binder clips (preferably two on each side) to secure the sheet. The other method includes using 3M 468MP transfer tape to stick the sheet onto the print bed.
- After the sheet is successfully attached, proceed to relevel your print bed, and it will be ready to use.
- For optimal performance, it’s recommended to clean the surface between prints with isopropyl alcohol, methyl alcohol, or soap. Light sanding with 5000-grit paper can help prolong the life of the PEI sheet.
