The Silent Step Stick Protector is a module stepper and is compatible with the Pololu A4988 motor driver. It is specifically designed to provide the motor output with a flyback diode (free rotating diode). This technology allows it to endure induction voltage even in instances when the driver isn’t powered.
The updated v2 protector model also includes a strategically placed diode connecting the logic voltage (anode) to the motor voltage (cathode). This ensures the power sequencing of all silent step stick protectors is correct.
This device is primarily utilized for managing and reducing the vibration in a 3D printer with a parallel arm structure. It is particularly effective with motors having lower resistance. By using this eliminator, you’re able to effectively dissipate uneven signal waves at low speeds and achieve relatively smooth signals.
