This product is the newest iteration, the TMC2208 V1.2, which comes with an integrated UART function, making it operational without the need for additional wiring.
Key features of the TMC2208 include a single-axis stepper motor drive chip and an integrated power tube. This module can handle drive current of 1.4A, with a peak of 2A, and operates within a voltage range of 4.75V-36V.
Equipped with a flexible microPlyer interpolation unit, the TMC2208 can deliver up to 256 microsteps per step resolution. Notably, the module achieves perfect sinusoidal control even in systems with a limited pulse rate. Moreover, it’s designed to be compatible with existing 3D printer electronics, ensuring no need for a costly redesign.
Additionally, the TMC2208 is furnished with patented technology including spreadCycle™ high chopper frequency, dcStep™, stallGuard2™ stall detection technology, and CoolStep™ current dynamic adjustment technology.
