Product Overview:
The STC T12-956 Soldering Station is designed to function optimally within a precise temperature range. Continual high-temperature operation may lead to wear and tear on the soldering iron tip. The recommended temperature for effective soldering is between 300-380°C.
To give some perspective, the melting point of ordinary solder is approximately 183°C, whilst a lead-free solder melts around 227°C. Working temperatures above 380°C could result in rapid oxidation and loss, impacting the longevity of your heating core. Temperatures exceeding this will cause the temperature display to fluctuate, an entirely normal occurrence.
We want you to have the best soldering experience, so we recommend keeping your working temperatures within 300-380°C. Most soldering operations can easily be accomplished within this range without compromising the tool’s performance or lifespan.
Moreover, the soldering station comes equipped with a T12-K Solder Iron Tip – a brand new one. However, you might notice the temperature fluctuating or displaying ‘ERROR.’ No need to worry, this is expected behavior due to the evolving resistance of the fresh soldering iron tip. With continued use, stability should return to normal.
