Perfectly suited for TIG welding and oxygen-acetylene gas welding, these rods serve as much-needed filler material for pure aluminum and aluminum alloy joints. These rods have become an industry favorite, particularly amongst chemical industry professionals who rely on aluminum equipment.
Before you start welding, take a moment to thoroughly clean the groove and wire surface. It’s also recommended to preheat the rods to a temperature between 400 and 500 degrees prior to welding. For successful results, make sure to use copper gas welding solvent.
Pay attention to the welding flame—it should either be a neutral flame or a slight oxidation flame. By reducing the welding temperature and increasing the speed, you reduce the residence time of the molten pool at high temperatures. This prevents zinc evaporation and oxidation.
