To help you make the most of your 110V/220V AC 11KW Digital Thermostat Electric Water Heater, specifically designed for heating swimming pools, spas, hot tubs, and more, we are providing key installation guidelines and usage tips. Ensuring correct wiring and meeting water flow requirements is critical to avoiding equipment damage and operational failures.

Looking for a reliable water heater for your pool or spa?

Product Overview

This 11KW electric water heater is designed for swimming pools, spas, and hot tubs, featuring an intelligent control system for simple operation and precise temperature control. The unit is equipped with moisture-resistant sensors and strong anti-interference capabilities, making it suitable for various heating and refrigeration environments.

Correct Wiring Guide

Correct wiring is crucial to prevent damage to the equipment. Please refer to the image below for the correct wiring setup:

Correct Wiring Instructions:

Bottom 2nd Terminal: Connect the red 110V wire.

Bottom 3rd Terminal: Connect the blue 110V wire.

Bottom 1st and 4th Terminals: Leave these empty, do not connect any wires.

Consequences of Incorrect Wiring:

If you connect both the 1st and 2nd terminals with red and blue wires, creating a dual 110V connection, this can lead to severe damage to the machine, possibly burning out the equipment beyond repair. Therefore, please strictly follow the correct wiring instructions above.

Important Note on Wire Thickness

We have noticed from customer feedback, as shown in the image below, that some users are using thin black and white wires during installation. When comparing these wires to the thicker blue and red wires that come with the machine, it’s clear that using thinner wires may not provide sufficient current capacity for this 11KW heater.

Using wires that are too thin can lead to overheating of the equipment, increasing the risk of a fire hazard. We strongly recommend using wires that match the thickness of the blue and red wires provided with the heater to ensure safety and prevent equipment damage.

Water Flow Requirements

For the 11KW electric water heater, water flow is equally important. If the water flow is insufficient, the unit will not function properly and may produce a clicking noise to indicate the low water flow. Ensure that the water flow rate is at least 8 cubic meters per hour and that the lift range is between 14 to 21 meters to ensure optimal performance.

Water Flow Indicator Light

As shown in the image below, the red circular light on the control panel serves as the water flow indicator. If this light is not illuminated, it indicates that the water flow is insufficient for the heater to function properly. In this case, please check your water pump and ensure it meets the necessary flow requirements.

Normal Operation Example

In the image below, you can see an example of the heater operating under normal conditions. The red water flow indicator light is illuminated, and the temperature display on the right shows the current water temperature.

If your water is not heating as expected, try increasing the temperature on the control panel by pressing the “+” button until the desired temperature is reached.

Water Pump Recommendation

If your current water pump cannot meet these requirements, we recommend upgrading to a pump with a flow rate of 8 cubic meters per hour and a lift range of 14 to 21 meters. This will help maintain consistent water flow and ensure that your water heater operates efficiently.

Common Issue: Blinking Lights

When operating normally, the water heater’s indicator light will blink. However, if the water flow is too low, the machine will not start and may produce a clicking noise. If this happens, check and adjust the water flow to meet the device’s working requirements.

Conclusion

Proper installation and usage are key to ensuring your electric water heater operates reliably and lasts longer. By following the wiring diagram carefully and maintaining adequate water flow, you can avoid common problems.
