MKS GEN V1.4:
The MKS GEN V1.4 is a comprehensive solution that combines 2560 and ramps1.4 on one board. This effectively solves the interface issue of Ramps1.4 that often tends to malfunction.
It allows for the replacement of motor drivers, supporting both 4988 and 8825 drivers. The circuit board is developed on a high quality 4 layer board for optimal heat dissipation, an upgrade from the usual 2 layer board such as in Ramps.
This model accommodates a special power supply chip which permits a power input of 12v-24v, efficiently addressing the issue of fever in Ramps voltage conversion chips. It accepts a 24V input, reducing the current hot bed to 1/4 under the same power system, hence circumventing the problem of heat occurring in a hot bed MOS tube.
It utilises the open source firmware Marlin, whose configuration aligns exactly with ramps1.4, allowing direct replacement. The MKS GEN V1.4 can be directly connected to Ramps1.4, 2004 LCD control board, and the LCD board (12864).
The model additionally provides three 5V output interfaces, along with three 12V-24V output interfaces.
Drv8825:
The Drv8825 comes with a heat sink of dimensions: 995mm or roughly 0.350.350.2 inches and DRV8825 of approximately 201511mm (0.790.590.43 inches).
It provides six different stepping resolutions: full, half, 1/4, 1/8, 1/16, 1/32 and is suitable for driving a stepper motor within the range of 8.2V ~ 45V 2.5A. It offers an uncomplicated steps and direction control interface.
In addition, the adjustable potentiometer allows for the regulation of the maximum output current leading to an increased step rate. It contains an automatic current decay mode detection / selection, equipped with thermal shutdown circuitry, an undervoltage lockout, crossover current protection, ground short-circuit protection, and load short-circuit protection.
