This product is compatible with the following devices (included in the package):
- Motor driver with a 4.5A MKS TB6600
- 3D printer motherboard: MKS-Gen
Features: Most current 42 motor-drivers of 3D printers directly connect the primary IC to the motor driver IC and each interface’s consumed current does not exceed 2MA. The MKS Gen motherboard that we’ve designed has a signal port that outputs the signal from the motor driver. The recommended motor drivers are 4988 and 8825.
Typically, what 57/86 stepper drivers input is optical coupling isolation, primarily purposed to prevent interference. Each motor driver has 3 inputs. The Enable (EN) port controls the motor switch, the Pulse (PUL) port regulates the motor’s movement position or speed, while the Direction (DIR) interface dictates the motor’s movement direction.
The driving current of general optical coupling interfaces is approximately 10MA – a single driver actuates a motor. One driver consumes up to 30MA of control current. After connecting X, Y, Z, E to four standard 57/86 motor drivers, 100MA of current is required at work. Connecting directly without enlarging current can easily damage the 3D printer IC control board.
Note: The MKS CD expansion board can adjust the flow control signal to prevent main IC from pressure generated by motor drives with optical isolation. Consequently, the Ramps1.4, MKS Gen, and other mainboards with five large motor drives can operate entirely without pressure.
Instructions: Insert the MKS CD directly into the driver slot and lead the control signal from the above white card port. Carefully note the direction of the socket.
