The TMC2208 is a single-axis, ultra-quiet stepper motor driver chip with the power tube built-in drive current at 1.4A and a peak current of 2A. It operates within a voltage range of 4.75V-36V and allows up to 256 subdivisions. This model features StealthChop2, achieving faster motor acceleration and deceleration compared to the standard StealthChop technology. The chip also features an automatic switchover between stealthChop and spreadCycle, depending on the velocity.
It’s equipped with a UART configuration interface, enabling it to operate between 9600 to 500K Baud. It also comes with a flexible microPlyer interpolation unit providing up to 256 subdivisions for perfect sinusoidal control even in systems with limited pulse frequencies. This feature enables a faster motor acceleration and deceleration compared to stealthChop. This technology, known as StealthChop2 ultra-quiet technology, is widely used within the 3D printing industry.
The TMC2208 Stepper Motor Driver can replace the original TMC2100 A4988 DRV8825 LV8729 models. It is easy to install, with a straightforward plug and play feature that requires no wiring.
In the package, you will find 2 TMC2208 Drivers, 2 Heat Sinks, and 1 Screwdriver.
