The MKS GEN V1.4 Motherboard combines the features of both the 2560 and ramps 1.4 onto one board, addressing issues of complexity and failure-prone interface that comes with the Ramps 1.4 combination. The board also allows for motor drive replacements and supports 4988, 8825, and TMC2100 drives.
Made from a quality 4-layer circuit board, it surpasses the standard 2-layer thermal processing optimization found in most Ramps. In addition, it uses high-quality MOSFET tubes for better heat dissipation and contains a dedicated power chip that supports 12V-24V power input, alleviating Ramps voltage conversion chip heating problems.
The MKS GEN V1.4 motherboard can also accept 24V input, reducing the thermal bed current to 1/4 to effectively address hot bed MOS tube heating issues. It is also compatible with open-source firmware Marlin and settings identical to Ramps1.4, expediting replacements for Ramps1.4.
Moreover, it can connect directly with Ramps1.4, and 2004LCD control boards, as well as 12864LCD control boards. It provides reserve motor pulse and direction output ports for larger current motor drives (like 2A, 5A). Lastly, it reserves the Servos, AUX-1, and AUX-2 interfaces found in Ramps 1.4, offering three 5V outputs and three 12V output interfaces.
