Product Overview:
The MKS UPS module is designed to perform a crucial task in the event of an abrupt power outage. This module is responsible for safely lifting the Z-axis, ensuring the print head of your 3D printer moves away from the model, thereby reducing the risk of damage to the model.
Here’s how it works:
- The MKS UPS module detects when the power supply has been cut off and communicates this to the motherboard;
- The MKS UPS module contains a fara capacitor which stores electrical energy, which can continue to supply power to the motherboard even after a power cut;
- Upon receiving the power-off signal from the MKS UPS, the motherboard will cease printing operations, switch off the hotbed and heating head, and raise the print head;
- The energy stored within the MKS UPS module can typically enable the print head to rise between 20mm to 200mm (dependent on the specific machine and module) to safely guard your model;
- Once power supply resumes, the printing process can be recommenced via the 12864/2004 LCD screen.
Important Precautions:
- MKS UPS12V is exclusively designed for DC12V power supply. Any mixed use is not advisable.
- MKS UPS24V is designed solely for DC24V power supply. Mixed usage is also not recommended.
- The motherboard must be equipped with Marlin2.0 firmware and compatible with a 12864/2004 LCD screen.
- The MKS Robin series (except Robin E3/E3D) and MKS TFT screen models do not currently support this module.
- Both MKS UPS12V and MKS UPS24V modules are equipped to detect external AC220V power supply.
