Product Details:

This listing features the TMC2130 V1.0 stepper motor driver, boasting a variety of sophisticated characteristics designed for optimum performance. This 2-phase, 1.2A stepper motor operates at a single-phase current with a peak of 2.5A and has an adjustable motor current. You’ll have two control methods available, the Step / DIR interface and SPI interface control. The motor’s input voltage range is between 4.75V – 46V, while the logical interface input voltage falls between 3V – 5V.

Notable qualities of the TMC2130 V1.0 include its 256 subdivisions, silent operation, and precision sensorless motor load detection. It limits energy expenditure by 75% and promises a high load drive without missing a step.

Drive Current Algorithm and Regulation:

To measure the reference voltage (Vref), use Gnd and the potentiometer’s middle end. While measuring, avoid connecting the motor as it can burn the drive. Power should be switched on during the measure, and avoid using only USB power.

Caution: Be mindful of the direction; incorrect insertion can cause damage.

Instructions for use:

  1. Retain the three jumper caps located under the socket while utilizing printer control boards.
  2. Because of chip attributes, ensure a good heat dissipation strategy. The heat sink should be affixed directly to the PCB, mindful of its direction, for a wrong placement can lead to short-circuiting due to the attachment between the heat sink and each pin.
  3. The motor direction is the reverse of models A4988 and DRV8825. If replacing the A4988, adjust the firmware or modify the motor connection accordingly.
