Product Description: The TMC2208 is an ultra-quiet, two-phase stepper motor driver chip. It has a continuous drive current of 1.4A, a peak current of 2A, and voltage range of 4.75V-36V. The chip utilizes the advanced technologies of spreadCycle™ (high dynamic chopper), stealthChop2™ (super quiet technology), and microPlyer™ (subdivision control). The architecture allows the chip to deliver up to 256 subdivisions.
The TMC2208 is very versatile. With its standard step/dir interface, it provides an easy and straightforward user experience. It is utilized widely in 3D printing, and can interface seamlessly with existing 3D printer electronics, eliminating any possible expenses associated with redesigning.
Key Features:
- Provides up to 256 subdivisions;
- Ensures no step loss while operating under high loads;
- Offers a logical interface level of 3-5V;
- Accepts an input voltage range of 4.75-36V DC;
- Allows a subdivision mode of 2, 4, 8, 16 subdivisions;
- Eliminates current dead zones and reduces motor vibrations with SpreadCycle technology;
- Offers smoother, quieter motor operations with its SpreadCycle PWM chopping mode. This mode reduces current and torque fluctuation and replicates a sine wave, leading to smoother performance compared to conventional constant chopping modes.
The package includes one Stepper Motor Driver Module.
