This product is ideally suited for use with the MKS TB6600 Motor driver with 4.5A, and the MKS-Gen 3D printer motherboard.
Feature: Currently, the 42 motor-drivers for 3D printers in the market primarily connect the IC directly to the motor driver IC, ensuring that no interface consumes more than 2MA of current. However, the MKS Gen motherboard we offer has an innovative signal port that can output the signal from the motor driver, recommending usage with 4988, 8825, and other similar motor drivers.
Usually, what the 57/86 stepper driver inputs is the optical coupling isolation, which is mainly to ward off interference. Each motor driver incorporates three input types: EN enable port controlling the motor switch, PUL pulse port managing the motor position or speed, and DIR direction interface dictating the motor movement direction.
An interesting feature here is that the driver current for most of these optical coupling interfaces is around 10MA, with each driver powering one motor. A single driver typically employs a maximum of 30MA of control current. Therefore, when X, Y, Z, E connect to four regular 57/86 motor drivers, a total of 100MA of working current is needed. However, connecting them directly can cause the 3D printer IC control board to burn due to the increased current.
Important note: Our MKS CD expansion board can adjust the flow control signal. This enhancement can curb pressure generated from the main IC by the motor drive with optical isolation. As a result, Ramps1.4, MKS Gen, and other mainboards can function seamlessly with five major motor drives, free of pressure.
Usage: Simply insert the MKS CD into the driver slot to lead the control signal from the designated white card port atop the device. Remember to take note of the plug orientation.
This package includes 10 x MKS CD 57/86 Stepper Motor Driver and 10 x Cables.
