Outlined below are some soldering steps and precautions, ensuring a safe and optimal soldering experience:
- Ensure the parts to be joined are clean.
- Clean the soldering iron tip and coat all faces of the tip with solder (tinning).
- Heat parts, not solder, to be joined.
- Apply solder to heated parts, not the soldering tip, until it melts and flows freely.
Note: Always maintain solder on the soldering iron tip. Never use strong acid flux with solder and avoid the unnecessary rough treatment of the soldering iron.
