Here are some tips to get the best out of your egg incubator:
1. Storing Eggs: If the egg has been through the column, let it stand for at least 24 hours. This allows the airbag inside the egg to return to its normal size. Always store eggs with the pointed side down.
2. Preparing the Incubator: Before you start hatching, the incubator should have been running for at least 24 hours, preferably a week. This gives you time to understand the incubator’s workings and make necessary adjustments.
3. Temperature and Humidity: The ideal temperature inside the incubator is 37.5 degrees Celsius. The humidity should be 55% for the first 18 days and 60-65% for the last 3 days.
4. Thermometer Accuracy: Even the best thermometers can be tricky. After the first hatch, you can adjust the temperature based on the hatching results.
