Product Details:
Introducing the ST820, a fully integrated driver designed for stepper motors. This user-friendly product boasts an in-built converter, streamlining the operation process. It’s capable of operating bipolar stepping motors in multiple modes: full, half, 1/4, 1/8, 1/16, 1/32, 1/128 and 1/256 step.
The ST820 provides comprehensive protection mechanisms which include overcurrent, over temperature, and short circuit protection. It is designed for simplicity and ease of use, making it ideal for use in 3D printers. With a minimal number of external devices and no additional components needed, this stepper motor driver offers a simpler and hassle-free solution.
Specifications include a supply voltage ranging from 7V to 45V and a maximum output current of up to 1.5 A rms per each motor phase. It also delivers stepper motor driving with a microstepping resolution up to 1/256th of a step.

Parameters:
- Motor power supply voltage: 7V – 45V
- Logic voltage: 3V – 5.5V
- Maximum output current: 0A – 1.5A
- Maximum subdivision: 1/256 subdivision
- Drive current: Adjustable
Precautions:
- The ENABLE control signal of the ST820 is the opposite of 4988, 8729. If you are replacing those drivers with the ST820, firmware modifications will be necessary. The direction may also need to be changed.
- Because of the heat generated during operation, indoor temperatures may rise. Consider a lower subdivision or adding a cooling fan to the driver.
- When adjusting the potentiometer, please disconnect the motor to prevent burnout.
- Never plug or unplug the motor while it is live to avoid damage.
- Pay attention to the gap between the heat sink and pin pin when installing the heat sink. Contact is necessary to prevent short circuits.
