Brochure:
This sleek and compact instrument in your hand is actually an accurate Coating Thickness Gauge equipped with the power to swiftly and non-invasively measure the thickness of non-metallic coatings, such as paint or film, on metal substrates. It is a versatile tool, widely used across sectors such as manufacturing, car washing, metal processing, chemical industry, and commodity inspection.
Key Characteristics:
- It’s capable of measuring coating thickness on the surface of the metal substrate.
- Flexibility of selection between two operating modes – Car and User.
- Offers three versatile measurement methods: single measurement, continuous measurement, and difference value measurement.
- It features three functional calibrations: zero calibration, two-point calibration, and basic calibration.
- The gauge provides the convenience of metric and imperial units.
- It is designed to save energy via the auto power off feature.
Specifications:
Range: A wide-reaching range from 0-1.8mm to 0-71mils
Resolution in Car Mode: 0.05mm/2mil; In User Mode: 0.01mm/1mil
Accuracy: Precise readings with an accuracy of +/-0.1mm
Modes: Toggle between Single & Continuous modes easily.
Power Source: Requires 2 x AAA 1.5V batteries (not included)
Dimensions: A compact size of 62 x 30.5 x 105mm (2.44 x 1.20 x 4.13in)
Weight: It weighs a mere 57.20g, making it easy to carry.
Operating Environment: Remains efficient at temperature range 0~40℃ (+32~104℉) and humidity range:10~95% RH.
How It Works:
- Press the power button to turn on the instrument. The LCD screen will display the model (Car or User mode).
- Long pressing the MODE button will allow you to switch between these two modes.
- Car mode measures coating thickness for three substrate materials-iron, aluminum, and zinc. This mode is ideally suitable for measuring the coating thickness of cars and needs no calibration.
- User mode, on the other hand, can measure coating thickness for the calibrated substrate material and requires calibration prior to use.
- If the instrument stays idle for two minutes without measuring anything or for five minutes after measuring, it shuts off to conserve energy.
- You can choose between single, continuous, or difference value measurements by pressing the MODE button.
Remember:
- As Car mode hosts built-in data, you don’t need to recalibrate. Users can directly measure the coating thickness of iron, aluminum, zinc substrate – perfect for evaluating cars.
- After calibrating a certain metal substrate in User mode, users can only measure the coating thickness of this specific metal and not on other types.
- Calibrations made in User mode have no effect on the Car mode.
- Car mode is the default factory setting.
- The manufacturer presets the User model calibration on iron substrate.
- When calibrating in User mode, the substrate’s diameter should be at least 50mm and thickness ≥0.5mm.
