Concerning the iron tip, avoid continuous use at high temperatures as this can damage the tip. Generally, solder melts at 183℃ for ordinary solder and 227℃ for lead-free solder. Therefore, a typical welding temperature should range from 300-380℃. Beyond 380℃, there’s a rapid oxidation and loss that affects the heating core life.
You will notice the temperature display fluctuating above 380℃ – this is perfectly normal and does not compromise the functionality. For optimal results, it’s recommended to work within the 300-380℃ range.
