Oscilloscope
Love measuring direct current or alternating current? Use the indirect method! Here’s the step-by-step process: First, convert your current into a proportionate voltage. Then, using an oscilloscope, observe your readings. The most practical approach is to connect a non-inductive resistor with high precision and modest resistance in the circuit under scrutiny, then let the oscilloscope evaluate the voltage. Then, a simple voltage across the resistor calculation will give you your measured current value using the formula I=U/R. The variables are as follows: I – the evaluated current value (A); U – the effective value of the voltage at both ends of the series resistor (V); and R – the resistance value of the series-connected non-inductive resistor (Ω). -
