Below are the unique features & functions of the KW850 scanner. It works on all 1996 and later OBDII compliant U.S., European, and Asian vehicles. It can determine the cause of Check Engine Light (MIL) easily, retrieve both generic and manufacturer-specific codes, turn off the Check Engine Light (MIL), and clear codes and reset monitors. Further, it displays DTC definitions on the unit screen, views freeze frame data, displays monitor and I/M readiness status, and identifies pending codes.
The scanner’s other functions include reading live PCM datastream, displaying live O2 sensor test data, graphing data (applicable for 1996 and newer vehicles), reading, storing & playback of live sensor data, and memory/battery backup for off-vehicle data review and analysis. Notably, it supports CAN (Controller Area Network) and all other current OBD-II protocols. It also houses a built-in OBD-II DTC lookup library and a large easy-to-read backlit LCD screen.
