The KW890, a newer model from KONNWEI, builds upon the features of the KW850. It differs by including a reset function for the battery tester and the maintenance lamp.
This product serves as a digital battery tester for 12V lead-acid batteries found in cars, SUVs, and light trucks.
Features: The KW890’s primary function is as a comprehensive vehicle diagnostic tool. It can read stored codes, execute an O2 monitor test, clear trouble codes, perform on-board monitor tests, provide a read freeze frame and component test, read data streams, provide vehicle information, assess I/M readiness, lookup Diagnostic Trouble Codes, test the evap system, and conduct a battery voltage test. It excels in diagnosis speed due to its user-friendly diagnostic interface and enhanced software algorithm, with results displayed on a 2.8-inch color screen. It includes a 59′ diagnostic cable for greater flexibility during use.
The KW890 is not only a tool for turning off the check engine light. Diverging from most of the cheap car diagnostic scanners, the KW850 provides full system diagnosis for the engine. It also conducts an O2 sensor test, EVAP system test, and on-board monitor test for a holistic view of the vehicle’s performance (Engine system only).

It includes a special function named ‘Oil Reset’, which calculates an optimal oil life change interval that is based on the individual vehicle’s driving conditions and climate.
This function is particularly useful in the following scenarios:
1. If the service lamp is on, implying the need for car servicing. Following service, you should reset the driving mileage or driving time to switch off the service lamp, enabling the new service cycle.
2. After changing engine oil or electric appliances that monitor oil life, the service lamp needs resetting.
