Introducing the PZEM-016 AC Communication Module. The primary function of this module is AC measurement, including voltage, current, power factor, active energy, and frequency. Importantly, it does not come equipped with the RS485 TO USB Module.
Unlike other modules with display functions, data readouts are obtained via the RS485 interface in this module. The measuring range of this handy unit is 100A, achieved with the use of an external transformer.
What you can measure with the PZEM-016:
- Voltage: From 80 to 260V, with a resolution of 0.1V and accuracy of 0.5%
- Current: From 0 to 100A, kickstarting at 0.02A and weighed with precision of 0.001A. The accuracy is 0.5%
- Active Power: From 0 to 23kW, kicking in from 0.4W. A resolution of 0.1W is offered, rendering statistical readings of up to 1000W. The accuracy stands at 0.5%
- Power Factor: A measurement range from 0.00 to 1.00 with resolution of 0.01 and an accuracy of 1%
- Frequency: Measurement between 45Hz and 65Hz with 0.1Hz resolution and 0.5% accuracy.
- Active Energy: From 0 to 9999.99kWh with a full 1Wh resolution and 0.5% accuracy. For readings above 10kWh, the unit will be kWh. The energy can be reset using software.
PZEM-016 AC Communication Module also uses the Modbus-RTU protocol for communication via UART to RS485 communication interface. It offers functions such as power-over alarm, and read/write registers for measurement results.
Please note that the module operates within a temperature range of -20’C to +60’C. Power supplies provide outputs of 3.3V and 5V feeding the measuring and communication systems, respectively. The module’s interface power is (+5 V), which can support an output capability of 100mA.
