Operation
Follow these steps for operation:
- Remove the protective cap and protective film from the screen.
- Rinse the electrode with distilled water and dry it with filter paper.
- Press the “ON/OFF” key to turn the meter on.
- Immerse the pH meter electrode in the test solution, ensuring not to exceed the immersion line.
- Stir gently and wait for about 30 seconds for the reading to stabilize.
- After testing, clean the electrode with pure water and turn off the meter by pressing the “ON/OFF” key.
- Always replace the protective cap after use.
Calibration
Follow these steps for calibration:
- Prepare a pH calibration solution.
- Fill three clean containers with 250ml of distilled water each.
- Add 6.86 in the first container, 4.00 in the second container, and 9.18 in the third container.
- Stir gently until the powder has dissolved.
- If an accuracy of ±0.1pH is required, calibrate the pH meter at 6.86 point.
- If an accuracy of ±0.01pH is required, calibrate the pH meter at three points (6.86 & 4.00 & 9.18)
Note: Recalibration is necessary under the following conditions:
- During extended periods of inactivity.
- With frequent use.
- If the testing accuracy requirement is very high.
- If the “CAL” (calibration) button was pushed and the electrode exposed to air for an extended period of time.
Maintenance
Always replace the protective cap after using the digital meter to prevent the electrode from drying out due to excessive exposure to air, which could lead to slow or unstable readings. If the electrode dries out, immerse it in distilled water for several hours.
