Description
This cable detector serves an essential purpose for electrical professionals who frequently need to track cables or cabling systems. It can help determine whether a safety device is connected to a specific circuit and assist in identifying and tracking metal tubes, heating pipes, or underground cables.
Features
The transmitted signal of the detector is digitally encoded, ensuring that the receiver clearly receives the signal and prevents interference field-induced misinterpretations. The cable detector has wide application in communication cable construction, electrical power cable infrastructure, construction pipeline, communication cable with power supply circuit and electrical heating line maintenance. It’s a crucial tool for construction maintenance personnel. The tool can be used to:
- Detect the laying route of cables, electrical lines, water, and gas supply pipes buried in walls and underground.
- Identify broken or short-circuit faults in cables and electrical lines concealed in walls and underground.
- Find the fuse and its safety circuit.
- Locate covered sockets and junction boxes.
- Search for open circuit and short circuit faults in the electric heating circuit under the floor.
The cable detector’s transmitter is equipped with an AC/DC voltmeter function that linearly measures 12-400V AC and DC voltage. It also comes with a display and can showcase the set transmit power level, transmit code, battery energy information, and measured external voltage value and type. This information, along with external high voltage alert symbols, can also be displayed on the receiver.
The receiver screen displays the transmitting power of the transmitter, transmitted codes, transmitter and receiver battery energy, AC voltage induced signal detected, and a warning symbol for mains voltage. The transmitter has a self-test function, and the receiver’s sensitivity can be adjusted automatically or manually. The receiver also has an automatic sweep frequency function.
Both the transmitter and receiver come with a mute function, facilitating use in quiet environments such as hospitals. Convenient for dark conditions, both units include a flashlight function. The transmitter also includes a temperature measurement function and there is an automatic shutdown feature in the receiver. The receiver’s LCD screen features a backlight, suitable for application in poor lighting.
Additional transmitters can be purchased to extend or distinguish several signals. The cable detector is compact, practical, and easy to carry.
