Using the PX-988 is a breeze; powering on is as easy as pressing the * key after plugging to a power source. On starting, the default temperature is set at a piping 350℃.
If you wish to change the temperature setting, tap the ▲or▼key. As you adjust the temperature, the screen blinks to display the current temperature, which fluctuates by 5℃ with each press. After three seconds, the soldering iron resumes work at the newly set temperature.
This tool is equipped with a temperature calibration feature. If your thermometer indicates a deviation in temperature from the displayed reading, you can adjust it for an accurate reading.
For instance, if the tool displays a temperature of 350℃while your thermometer reads 380℃, you can calibrate it by pressing the * key and adjusting it to -30℃ using the▼key. After 3 seconds, your soldering iron continues operation, properly calibrated.
To power off the tool, press and hold the * key for a stretch of 3 seconds – Your soldering iron politely turns off.
