The STC T12-946 Mini Soldering Station is designed to handle varying temperature conditions. However, care must be taken to not sustain high temperature operations as it may harm the iron tip.
Remember, common solder’s melting point is 183℃ while if it’s lead-free solder, the melting point goes up to 227℃. Generally, soldering operations are performed within the temperature range of 300-380℃. The magic number here is 380℃. Operating temperatures exceeding this limit can exacerbate iron tip oxidation and loss, thus severely reduces the lifespan of the heating core. Fluctuations in temperature readings are normal and do not affect the product’s functionality.
Rest assured, our T12 model maintains strict temperature control. We suggest working temperatures to be kept between 300℃ to 380℃ to avoid damaging the solder tip coating and to enhance its overall performance and life.
