Here is a step-by-step guide to using the UT682’s functions:
Telephone Line Tracking Function:
- Insert the telephone line head into the transmitter’s RJ11 interface.
- Switch the transmitter function to the “TEST” position. Now the line tracking indicator “Status” should flash, indicating the transmitter is functioning correctly.
- Press and hold the receiver’s “Press to test” button and use the receiver probe to find the target cable.
- During the testing, lightly press the “Switch” button to toggle between single and double audio test patterns.
Network Line Tracking Function:
- Plug in the network line with a crystal head into the transmitter’s RJ45 interface.
- Switch the transmitter to the “TEST” position. Now, the line tracking indicator “Status” should start to flash, which represents correct transmitter functioning.
- Press and hold the receiver’s “Press to test” button and use the receiver probe to locate the target cable.
- During the test, gently press the “Switch” button to switch from a single to a double audio test pattern.
Power Cable Line Tracking Function (Note: Ensure the power cable is not connected to power):
- Connect the transmitter to the metal cable using the alligator clip adapter included in the package.
- Switch the transmitter to the “TEST” position. The “Status” indicator should flash, showing appropriate transmitter function.
- Hold the receiver’s “Press to test” button and use the probe to find the targeted power cable.
