The DuetWifi is an advanced, 32-bit electronic controller for 3D printers and other types of CNC machines. Despite its similarities with the Duet Ethernet in terms of feature-set, it is distinct in terms of its connectivity – offering WiFi instead of Ethernet.
The key features of the DuetWifi include:
-A Powerful 32-bit processor.
-A dedicated WiFi module.
-Quiet operation due to TMC2660 stepper drivers, capable of up to 256 microstepping.
-High-speed SD card compatibility. It also supports an external SD card if needed.
-Dual extruders on the main board. It can support up to 5 additional extruders on the expansion board.
-High power rating. Each stepper driver can handle a motor current of 2.8A, which is limited to 2.4A in software. The bed heater channel can handle high current up to 18A.
-Connectivity with PCs, tablets, or smartphones on the same network via the onboard web interface.
-Support for all common 3D printer geometries.
-Can be expanded to support up to 7 extruders with firmware support for mixing nozzles and remapping of axes to utilize high power external drivers.
-PanelDue touchscreen support – a full-color graphic touch screen.
-Included molex-compatible plugs and crimps, along with ferrules for power and heater terminals.
The package also includes a PanelDue, a color touch screen controller meant for the Duet and other compatible 3D printing electronics. It offers:
-A screen resolution of 480×272 pixels.
-5V power from the host 3D printer controller.
-2-wire async serial interface with a 3.3V signal level (also tolerates 5V input).
-An external SD card socket connection. This is usually part of most compatible displays and connects via a 10-way ribbon cable connector on version 2.0 PanelDue boards.
-A 4-wire cable to connect the PanelDue to the controller board for serial and power connections.
The DuetWifi is based on the original model by Think3dPrint3d and Esher3d. However, this version is neither endorsed nor supported by the original creators.
