The DRV8825 stepper motor driver carrier is a board tailored for the Texas Instruments’ DRV8825 micro-stepping bipolar stepper motor driver. With a nearly identical pinout and interface to our A4988 stepper motor driver carriers, it serves as an enhanced-performance alternative for many applications. Notable features of the DRV8825 include adjustable current limiting, overcurrent and overtemperature protection, plus six micro-step resolutions to a minimum of 1/32-step. Its operating range spans from 8.2 – 45 V, delivering a maximum of approximately 1.5 A per phase without employing a heat sink or forced air flow (up to 2.2 A per coil with added cooling).
